Annual Physical Check up.

Have you had your annual physical check up this year or do you have it scheduled already?
If you have not done that you need to do that now before the year ends or schedule it for very early next year.

A great benefit of annual physical check up is that it helps to give you a clean bill of health or nip anything brooding in the bud. It helps you continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle or make necessary ammends if need be.

I see so many people who do not make healthy life choices, some can't be bothered, for others it is just out of sheer ignorance. So if I am able to convince only one person to make a better choice with his or her life, then my work is done. Then I am happy and fulfilled. I want all my friends to be healthy and conscious of their health.
Prevention they say is far better than cure.

Most times ,you have to schedule your annual physical check up way in advance and plan for it. You might also need to go fasting so you have to plan for that as well. Some people find it a herculean task to fast ,so for them to do it, they have to psych their minds for weeks on end to get it done.
During the annual physical check up, the doctor takes a history of what has been going on with you, if you have any current complaints, what current medications you are taking, any drug allergies, any significant medical history like hospital admissions, surgeries or blood transfusions in the past.

Also your vital signs like Blood pressure, Pulse rate,Temperature, Respiratory rate, Oxygen saturations on room air, and weight would be checked.

The doctor would examine you. Blood tests would be done.
That is the part I kind of dread. I do not particularly enjoy it. Actually, I do not think there is anyone in the world that just loves being poked with needles.I must confess it is much easier for me to take blood sample from patients. At a point I was almost seen as the "vampire" of my team as it was so easy to take blood sample even from the most difficult patient. They say doctors make terrible patients, that might be true to a certain extent. I squirmed in my mind as the lady took my sample, I had to muster all my strength not to scream. I "cannot come and disgrace" myself and my entire medical colleagues community here. That was anathema!

Back to the main gist. Your blood samples will be taken. Also you are required to produce urine for testing as well. So do not be like me, who went to pee right before I entered the doctor's office. Drink a lot of water and reserve your urine in your bladder till it is called for .
The doctor would get back to you on the results of all the tests and give you necessary recommendations.

Folks, by now you know that health is wealth.

Organize for your annual physical check up today and if you have, like me, Kudos!

Stay healthy, Live healthy.

Have a very Merry Christmas and wishing you all a Prosperous New Year ahead.
